Every week we replay real photos from a vendor table through the exact scanner in the app and publish what it got right — and what it got wrong.
The photos are real. They're scans taken by vendors at their own tables — show lighting, sleeves, toploaders, phones held at an angle — not studio shots of clean cards.
The scanner is the live one. Each photo goes through the same /identify the app calls, at the same resolution the phone sends. No special model, no retries.
"Exact" is strict. A hit means the app's first answer is the exact catalog card — set, collector number and variant (Reverse Holo, Master Ball stamp, store exclusive) all correct. "Right card" counts a miss on the printing only. Anything else is wrong.
Misses are listed, not hidden. Most misses are promo cards whose number is printed differently from the catalog, and retailer-exclusive stamps (GameStop vs EB Games). We fix those in the resolver and rerun.

Because "best scanner we've ever used" is a sentence, and a number is a number. If you're pricing a table off a scanner, you deserve to know how often it's right before you trust it with a $300 card. If this page ever goes quiet, ask us why.
