TCGenie ("we", "us") provides a point-of-sale, pricing, and inventory tool for trading-card vendors, available on the web and as native iOS and Android apps. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
To identify cards from photos, TCGenie uses a third-party artificial-intelligence service, Anthropic PBC (the Claude API). When you scan or select a photo of a trading card, graded slab, or a screenshot of your own card-collection list — or import an inventory spreadsheet — our server sends that image (or, for a spreadsheet, its column headers and a few sample rows) to Anthropic so it can read the card's printed details (name, collector number, set, and condition). The service is used only for this recognition step; it does not generate open-ended or creative content.
We do not send any personal or account information to Anthropic — no name, email, password, contacts, location, device identifiers, or payment data. Anthropic does not use content submitted through its commercial API to train its models. This processing happens only when you choose to scan a card or import a collection; nothing is captured or transmitted in the background. See Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
TCGenie does not process card payments itself. When you send an invoice with a payment link, payment is handled by the third-party processor you configure (e.g., your own payment provider), subject to their privacy terms.
Your business data is retained while your TCGenie account is active.
To delete your TCGenie account and all associated data:
Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account record, inventory, sales history, buy lists, labels, and scan data are all erased from our systems. No data is retained after deletion, except records we are legally required to keep (e.g., tax records of completed transactions, retained for the legally mandated period).
You can also request deletion by emailing nick@tcgenie.io from your account email — we process emailed requests within 30 days.
Data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure with access controls. Passwords are stored hashed. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
TCGenie is a business tool intended for users 17 and older and is not directed to children.
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
